Another SHO gets the "Hot Foot"

Fellow SHO Owner, Robert Brown (location unknown) sent in these pics of his Silver Generation II SHO after an under-hood fire.  He did not specify the cause of the fire, but one cause is a blown power steering hose, it sprays on the back header and cat converter.  These high pressure hoses run from the pump on the back, lower passenger side of the motor and across.  I had to have mine replaced on my 89 a couple of years ago (about 1999).  If you have the subframe out for tranny work, try to spend the bucks to put in new power steering hoses at that time, they are a lot easier to get too with the subframe out.   Good preventive maintenance.
