Ford To Sell 51 Concept Vehicles

UPDATE:  The list of vehicles offered is now out, no SHO specific products are listed.  Only one car mentions, the SHO, and only to say it is a V12 with SHO pistons/rods.  BUT, the car being sold doesn't even have a motor, so that isn't even true.

NONE of the vehicles for sale are street legal, and the vast majority won't even run.  Many will not even steer!  So what they are offering is automotive sculpture and art in LARGE scale!

Still, some of the items are very desirable and will bring upwards of a quarter million dollars. There are some that are expected to bring only a few thousand.

There isn't anything there that I can't live without and nothing that relates to the SHO.

About the only items that might relate to the SHO are a couple of concepts that look like they could have been test beds for the Gen III Taurus (Gen II in Ford's way of counting the generations).  You can see the SHO or Taurus in all the oval shapes, and the basic shape of the car.

I will be auctioning off my $35 copy of the Christies auction book at the convention for charity.

Now to the original story:

In a move unheard of in automotive circles, Ford Motor Company will auction off, for charity, 51 concept and show vehicles in June of 2002.

The full list of vehicles to be auctioned won't be available till about 30 days before the auction.

You can bet that if any SHO related vehicles are included, that SHO Club will be there, checkbook in hand, hoping that the SHO's notoriously low resale value carries over to unwanted concept vehicles.
